1.A clean air exhaust via a fan not equipped with a remote control open/closed valve.Emergency inerting will be less effective.Inerting medium(C02 or N2)will be lost to the atmosphere via this connection,in spite of the rotary valve(4).Ingress of atmospheric air(O2)into the silo is also possible via this path.Often,explosion pressure shock resistance of the clean air exhaust section of the filter,including the fan,is not present or is insufficient.2.The silo is equipped with one or more self-reclosing explosion vents(explosion doors).The filter is likely to be equipped with a non self-reclosing explosion vent(rupture panel).This causes the silo's explosion venting concept to be inconsistent.In case of a fire in the silo,ingress of atmospheric air(O2)is possible and inerting medium will be lost,via the connection to the atmosphere through the filter's then open explosion venting orifice.In spite of the rotary valve,the silo may be affected by ingress of air and loss of inerting medium,on top of what flows through the dirty suction pipe connection.
