What shape are the nation's heritage and botanic gardens in as they prepare for reopening?Limited visitor numbers, ticketing and timed slots brought in as gates start to reopen
New Government guidance issued on 22 May, two months after lockdown, "sets out the key principles of enjoying the benefits of being outside, while protecting yourself and others from corona-virus". People can "visit gardens and land maintained for public use as an alternative open space to spend time outdoors, although buildings and amenities such as cafes will remain closed and access may be limited to members or those with tickets to ensure social distancing", it adds. Parks and gardens visitors "should check ahead and follow social distancing guidelines".
