VETERINARY IRELAND'S POSITION Veterinary Ireland's position statement on the welfare of pigs kept in intensive systems was issued in late 2017. The statement calls for full enforcement of existing legislation pertaining to animal welfare in pigs including the provision of correct space requirements and enrichment for all pigs.
