Atheta autumnalis (Erichson) (Staphylinidae) new to Ireland with a comment on Atheta basicornis (Mulsant & Rey) in Ireland

Atheta autumnalis (Erichson) is listed by Hyman (1994) as RDBI in Britain with a single specimen then known from Hereford in 1936. Boyce (2007) reported several sites for the species by fast-flowing rivers around Dartmoor and Exmoor in Devon and Somerset and a site by the River Usk in Brecon, Wales (Boyce, 2008). The species has not heretofore been recorded for Ireland (Good & Anderson, 2017).
