Food and fiber livestock veteri-narians are integral to our world's food supply and to global food security. They ensure the animals that produce our eggs, meat, milk and other food and fiber products are healthy from farm to table. Livestock health is particularly important in Texas, which boasts a No. 1 ranking in the nation in many livestock species, including cattle, sheep and goats. More than one-third of the nation's beef is fed in the Panhandle region of Texas.
