High demand for fungicides in the agricultural sector helped maintain domestic pesticide sales for UK Crop Protection Association (CPA) members to pound416.4 million (US621.5 million) in 2002. CPA members account for 95% of the UK market. The previous year's sales have been restated as pound413.3 million to reflect membership changes. Fungicide sales for agriculture were up 20% to pound133.9 million in 2002, while volume sales rose by 27% to 4,638 tonnes active ingredient. Weather conditions favoured high levels of disease, the CPA points out.
