Well-known Tasmanian Industrial Painters Des and Patrick Peterson are calling it a day and have the long time established family business, one of only two in Southern Tasmania on the market in Hobart. Des Peterson was employed as a foreman with a painting company in the 60's, there was no spray painting equipment so they used brush rollers to apply the painting which was slow & did not give an even cover. In 1970 Des decided to start his own business & with little money available he set about making his own equipment by making a spray gun pot out of an old oxygen bottle cut down. Spray painting was more efficient & gave a better finish. When he was more financial he brought airless spray pump & set up his workshop in Sunderland St Moonah.
