US working natural gas volumes in underground storage rise by 37 Bcf: eIA

US natural gas in storage inventories ticked up slightly more than expected last week, prompting slight gains to the NYMEX Henry Hub balance-of-summer prices, which were still down nearly 10 cents from the week prior. Storage inventories increased by 37 Bcf to 3.215 Tcf for the week ended July 17, the US Energy Information Administration reported the morning of July 23. The injection was more than an S&P Global Platts' survey of analysts calling for a 33-Bcf build. The injection measured less than the 45-Bcf build reported during the same week last year but equaled the five-year average gain, according to EIA data.
