Eco-friendly management of Sclerotinia stem rot inIndian mustard

Investigation were carried on the antagonistic potential of 14 microbial isolates from mustard rhizosphere soil and tested against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum under laboratory and green house conditions. Out of nine fungal antagonists four isolates i.e.Trichoderma atroviride (Ta-2), T. viride (Tv-2), T. viride (Tv-6), T. harzianum (Th-6), and of six bacterial antagonist i.e. Pseudomonas fluorescens (Pf-25), P. fluorescens (Pf-26), Bacillus subtilis (Bs-4), B. subtilis (Bs-6) isolates significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of S.sclerotiorum in vitro. The talc based formulation of these antagonists used as seed treatment and soil application provided good disease control under green house conditions.
