Developments in equipment for the quality control of coatings

摘要

This paper reviews the latest portable instrumentation available for determining the conditions under which coatings are applied and the measurement methods that are available for parameters such as thickness, adhesion, gloss and porosity of coatings. Current thinking on the use of this equipment is discussed including the requirements for calibration and traceable standards.
