Plenty of corrosion challenges arise from the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Every EuroCorr Conference has a session on nuclear corrosion and these are always well attended. Your representative worked in the UK nuclear industry for three years in the late 70s. It turned out to be (probably) the most interesting job he's ever had. So it was with special interest that he came on to the Grand Committee Room of the House of Commons to attend the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee Meeting with the topic under discussion being 'The Future of UK Nuclear Power'. We were addressed first by Peter Hollins, the Chief Executive of British Energy. This gentleman's aim was to persuade the MPs, Lords and experts gathered in the chamber that the Government should invest in more nuclear stations.
