Validation of an HPLC-UV Procedure for Determining the Glycyrrhizic Acid Content in Licorice Roots

摘要

An HPLC-UV procedure for quantitative determination of glycyrrhizic acid in commercial licorice roots was validated for specificity, linearity, precision (convergence and intralaboratory precision), and accuracy. The HPLC-UV procedure was promising for standardization of licorice roots and licorice herbal medicinal preparations and could be recommended for inclusion in the next edition of the State Pharmacopoeia of the Russian Federation.
