Iraq's hopes of reviving output from its northern Kirkuk felds face continued uncertainty amid growing political instability and bureaucratic delay. BP fnished a study on the rehabilitation potential of some of the region's oil felds last month, and its staf have now left Kirkuk, Iraqi state-owned North Oil (NOC) says. The major's study agreement expired on 31 December, and it now has to decide whether to pursue a development deal with NOC or get its money back.
