After almost 50 years of being-Ivof the day and all days of the year, regardless of weather or holidays or vacations, I must admit I am a bit skeptical of all the claims being made for all kinds of different data gathering programs, all kinds of fertilizers, additives, sprays, etc. If it is for sale, it has been put in front of me over the past years. I will also admit that I don't have the technical or academic background that many of the younger generations in agriculture have today, but I remain alittle gun shy of laying on the beach and managing my irrigation a thousand miles away with my smartphone.In my opinion, good farming is a combination of observing the crop, supplying what the crop needs in a timely fashion and paying attention to all the details of property management that the operation entails.
