Austin Young knows firsthand the connection between an outside sales team and an increase in profits.As the co-owner of A&E Paint Centers in Florida,Young himself became the first outside salesperson for the company about five years ago.Fast-forward to today,and the 24-employee company employs five outside sales representatives,a factor that Young directly relates to the exponential growth of the business.”We can get traffic in the store,but when you have an outside sales representative focusing on bringing in additional business,that is such a game changer,”Young says.Young's exposure to the paint business started early,as his father was in the paint business his whole life.When Young was growing up,the family owned a paint store in Kentucky,which gave him and his siblings a chance to learn the ins and outs of the business.Today,A&E Paint Centers is a family-owned business,with several members of the Young family playing a role.The first store opened 13 years ago in Port Charlotte,Florida;the business has a second Port Charlotte location along with another in Cape Coral.
