Over 400 attendees from 33 countries attended the 61~(th)edition of the International Colloquium on Refractories(ICR)on 26-27 September 2018 in Aachen/DE headlined”Refractories Enabling High Temperature Technologies”.For the conference dinner another 100 people joined the event at the famous Kronungssaal in the Town Hall in Aachen.The technical conference programme comprised 3 keynotes,3 lectures of the EIRICH Award 2018,51 oral scientific presentations from 16 countries,and the poster show with 23 contributions from 8 countries.The exhibition with its 37 booths became more than ever a meeting point for networking.During a special ICR session under the topic”News and Innovation Pitch”,8 company presentations from 6 countries were held.
