Some US independents are linking aspects of their executive compensation packages with corporate performance - a move made to appease investors demanding improved shareholder returns. Bakken Shale gas heavyweight Continental Resources has revised its annual bonus pool at the board level. The new plan, effective this year, is based on several financial metrics, including net cash from operations, return on capital employed and relative total shareholder return, according to an 8-K filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). Those elements revise the weight given to elements such as reserve and production growth.
