Azov-Black Sea ports handle nearly 30 mt of different cargoes in December, record high in recent few years; ore and grain cargoes handling increases most

In December, total cargo handling at sea ports of the Azov-BlackSea basin increased by 1.7 mt, reaching 29.9 mt, the highestvolume in the last few years. Transshipment of ferrous rawmaterials grew more than that of other cargoes. Because of asignificant rise in handling at Ukrainian terminals, grain cargotransshipment also grew substantially. In December, the volumeof major cargoes handled in the region went up, except for bulk oil.Cargo handling at Russian ports was largely stable at 15.45 mt(up 74,000). A decrease in transshipment at Taman (down243,000 t) and Tuapse (down 96,000 t) ports was made up for byincreased handling at Novorossiysk port (up 319,000 t).
