WORLD ETHANOL PRODUCTION TO RETURN TO GROWTH IN 2020

Weather related production problems and ongoing trade conflicts are likely to put a lid on global ethanol production this year. However, underlying growth programs in various parts of the world and the expectation that a number of trade barriers will be removed will prompt a return to the growth path next year. The obligations that were entered into as part of the 2015 Paris agreement feature in a number of new schemes that have been presented in recent years. And while not all of them will be implemented in their original form they will form the basis from which to grow the industry in the years ahead.
