In an attempt to expedite the process of addition and expansion of ethanol capacity, the sugar industry has asked banks to look at the green fuel as a separate entity to disburse loans, a senior government official said. Banks are unwilling to give loans to sugar mills for expansion of distillery capacities due to their weak balance sheets.
