The price range for dried and bagged foundry grade chromite narrowed on Tuesday October 13, reflecting a sluggish recovery in demand, while wet bulk foundry and chemical grade prices held firm. Fastmarkets assessed the price of chromite, foundry, 46% Cr2O3 min, dried and bagged, fob South Africa down by $10 on the top end at $260-350 per tonne on Tuesday, from $260-360 per tonne previously. There was market activity and offers confirmed at the low end of the range, where business was concluded for competitive destinations including Europe and India, while active offers and assessments were reported throughout the mid and upper level of the range for other destinations.
