South African andalusite producer Andalusite Resources will gradually resume mining operations with new production expected in one to two weeks, Fastmarkets has learned. Operations at Andalusite Resources, one of two producers of the refractory raw material in the country, and one of the three main producers globally, have been halted since South Africa declared a lockdown in late March to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
