On July 5, soon after the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her maiden Union Budget in the Parliament, media personnel asked me for my reaction as applicable to the plantation industry. My simple reaction was, "While all general provisions of the Budget will be applicable to the plantation industry just as for any industry, there is nothing specific to highlight for the plantation industry in this Budget.
