With regard to concessions on decontrolled phosphatic and potassic fertilisers, the government initially announced the base rate for 2007-08 on" the 10th July 2007. There was long delay in the announcement of final rates of concession. The final rates of concession were announced on monthly basis, for April to September 2007 on 31st January, 2008, i.e. about 6 months after the announcement of the base rates. Subsequently, the final rates of concession for October 2007 to February 2008 were announced on the 19th May, 2008 and for March 2008 on the 2nd July, 2008. The ad hoc concession rate for SSP was Rs. 975 per tonne. An additional amount of Rs. 150 per tonne on account of inland freight was allowed in addition to the concession amount w.e.f. 1.4.2007. Therefore, the concession amount for SSP got raised to Rs. 1125 (Rs. 975 + Rs. 150) per tonne from 1st April 2007 from Rs. 975 per tonne earlier.
