A Swindon-based car parts manufacturing plant has increased its throughput and improved working conditions through the use of robotic automation from ABB Robotics Previously, scrap steel bales weighing over 200kg were conveyed from the baling machine onto a rotational conveyor and dropped down a chute two metres into a scrap bin. Once full, the scrap bin was transported to the local metal recycling facility.
