Distillate demand soars, eroding diesel exports

Products prices posted heavy losses as refining capacity came back on line after a busy turnaround season and amid slowing diesel exports. US gasoline remained under pressure from plentiful supplies. Gulf coast prices tumbled to their lowest since July 2017, reopening the arbitrage along the Colonial pipeline to its widest in nearly two years and prompting an almost 7pc increase in gasoline exports to 740,000 b/d in the second week of November.
