Dry natural gas consumption is expected to drop across Latin American countries as the slowdown in economic activity, driven by the drop in oil prices and localised outbreaks of Covid-19, is more severe than previously anticipated. Our power team has revised down the power generation forecast for largest economies n the region which adds to the woes for natural gas consumption. We highlight that new pipeline and LNG terminals projects are likely to face delays. Limited access to fnancing and operational risks caused by the outbreak of Covid-19 will weigh on investor willingness and ability to advance new natural gas infrastructure projects.
