Woodside approves Sangomar first phase with second looming

The joint venture for Woodside's Sangomar project off Senegal took the final investment decision and awarded contracts for the first phase with the second phase likely next year. The group will buy an 100,000 b/d FPSO from Modec, after having decided this was a better long term option than a lease. The Subsea Integration Alliance of Subsea 7 and OneSubsea received the final award for the construction and installation of the integrated subsea production systems and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines. Diamond Offshore was finalised for two well-based contracts for the rigs Ocean BlackRhino and Ocean BlackHawk.
