Interactive Flashcard Games: A New Approach to Enhance Understanding of Human Body System

Conventional learning methods involve two ways communication between learners and lecturers but with less interactive approach. Conventional learning (also referred to as traditional learning) tends to consider students as passive receptors of information, without consideration of theneed to actively participate in the learning process. Therefore, using a flashcard incorporated visual and auditory through interactive activities, student learn about the concept of separate organ working together to make up a body system. In human body system, there are ten systems whichinvolved new numerous organ system that overlapped between one another. The aim of this study was to study the effectiveness of using flashcard model in enhancing student understanding of human system. The study was conducted by providing the student entrance and exit survey prior to SPSSanalysis. The finding shows that all items in the survey were valid (Cronbach’s coefficient Alpha = 0.464). Meanwhile, paired t-test analysis demonstrated a significant value (p = 0.000) which indicates there were an effectiveness between entrance and exit. It was concluded that flashcardsgames could enhance interactive learning process.
