In order to meet the increasing demand for bio-based adhesives, renewable resources offer a new material basis, e.g. for adhesives with thermal activation properties. Within the project Bio-based adhesives with heat activation funded by the BMEL, Federal ministry of Food and Agriculture / FNR, Agency for Renewable Resources, an ecological assessment of bio-based heat-activated adhesives for applications in the automotive, furniture and footwear industries, was carried out for the first time.
