Henkel staged a spectacular demonstration of the phenomenal performance that adhesives are capable of. On the company's site in Diisseldorf-Holthausen in Germany, a locomotive pulled a train weighing 200 tonnes. The unique feature of the event was that the locomotive was only connected to the wagons by a bonded joint with an area of around 230 cm~2.
