CRT: A multichannel educational event

It is my pleasure to introduce the first CRM supplement dedicated to educational activities were generated at the Cardiovascular Research Technologies (CRT) 2017 meeting, which was held in February 2017 in Washington, DC. CRM is the official journal of the meeting and is distributed to its attendees. This year, CRT celebrated 20 years of educational effort that was designed to give a platform to new medical innovations, devices, drugs, and therapeutic and techniques strategies in the field of interventional cardiology. Over the years, CRT evolved to cover the field of interventional cardiology in a variety of tracks, including complex coronary, endovascular, valve and structural, technology and innovation, atherosclerosis and the vulnerable plaque, nurse and technologies symposium, and the town hall with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which became one of the flagships of the meeting. In addition, the meeting expanded to call for abstracts, interesting cases, and innovations. A compilation of these is presented in this supplement issue. A second issue to follow will include the most interesting cases that were presented at CRT 2017.
