Desmoplastic small round cell tumour (DSRCT) is a rare entity. The literature regarding cytological diagnosis of DSRCT is limited and generally comprises case reports. DSRCT presents a unique set of diagnostic challenges to cytopathologists because of the similar cytomorphological appearances of other small round cell tumours. We present a case of intra-abdominal DSRCT diagnosed by fine needle aspiration (FNA) and confirmed by subsequent core biopsy.
