SOE WELCOMES ITS FIRST ENGINEER SURVEYOR PRESIDENT

SOE (Society of Operations Engineers) welcomed its new President, John Childs, at the 2006 Presidential Address in Central London. Many colleagues from industry and other institutions gathered to hear the Address, which focused on the public image of engineers and engineering. The Society has three professional sectors, BES (Bureau of Engineer Surveyors), IPlantE (Institution of Plant Engineers) and IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers). John Childs is the first SOE President from the Society's BES Professional Sector.
