摘要

Peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumors (pPNETs) and Ewing's sarcoma (EWS) are the same tumors with variable neural differentiation, as has recently been supported by immunohistochemical and cytogenetic findings.Both tumors are thought to be derived from a primitive pluripotent cell from the neural crest. These are aggressive, poorly differentiated neoplasms in children and young adults. These tumors show a peak incidence in the second decade and a slight male preponderance.
