LONDON (ICIS--Oil prices rose on Wednesday afternoon after the release of data showing a larger-than-expected drop in US crude stockpiles. Crude oil inventories fell by 5.8m bbl in the week ending 17 August, according to the weekly data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), outpacing analyst expectations of a 1.5m- bbl drop almost four times over.
