Oilfield services firm Schlumberger reduces activities in Venezuela

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Schlumberger is reducing activities in Venezuela amid that country’s ongoing economic, financial and currency troubles, the US office of the France-based international oilfield services major confirmed on Wednesday. Schlumberger said that in recent quarters its business in Venezuela experienced "insufficient payments received", along with lack of progress in establishing new mechanisms to address past and future accounts receivable.
