The archaeo archaeo-metallurgy of historic melee weapons is one of the most interesting topics because the objects were manufactured using the highest quality materia materials and the most advanced technology during ls the ages. The Japanese swords are paid great admiration among the objects as the honour of classical technology and of the beautiful art. The elucidation of manufacturing process of Japanese sword is therefore ver very important. There have been y reports in the past that tried to elucidate the Japanese sword’s microstructure using the microscopy analyses and X X-ray diffraction (XRD) on the cross sections of swords after mechanical cutting cutting.
