UV flexo matt varnish reduces wastage and downtime

Pulse Roll Label Products has developed a range of UV flexo matt varnishes which includes EL370, EL371 and EL372, satin, matt and super-matt, foil block-able formulations that reduce wash up and press down times; it takes the optimum anilox roll required from 8-12 volume down to 4-6.This represents a huge reduction in usage, a smoother finish with faster cure and better over printability on foils, high build and thermal ribbons "All printers have experienced the perennial problem of matt varnishes thickening in the duct during medium to long print runs that then require a heavy anilox to transfer the product," says managing director Gary Seward. "This in turn creates UV curing and overprinting issues. I challenged our technical department to develop a range of UV matt varnishes that would provide a solution. Having tested the products with one of our customers we are confident in having brought another new development to market that not only improves print quality but also reduces press downtime costs."
