Goss has launched its new Packaging Technology Center at its headquarters in Durham, New Hampshire, USA with a Vpak 500 press as its centerpiece. Featuring seven web offset units with EB and UV curing and flexo coating, the press is dedicated to demonstrations, testing and the pursuit of advanced printing concepts. "The response to the opening has been overwhelming," says director of product management Peter Walczak. "It's a case of hitting the ground running to fit in all the viewings and discussions requested." Configured to print on film substrates from 9 to 75 microns as well as on paper, the Vpak 500 in the new Packaging Technology Center accommodates web widths of up to 850 mm (33.5 inches) with a repeat range from 406-812 mm (16-32 inches). Investment in the center is a solid indication of the Goss commitment to the packaging sector.
