Mixed picture is reported in the Black Sea coaster market. On the one hand, charterers seem to be confident as theyare trying to push quotes down further, following a downtrend that emerged in the first half of December. On the otherhand, shipowners rarely agree to cut rates, with most of them still voicing high ideas for December dates and even forearly January. Carrying 5,000?6,000 t of steel products from Novorossiysk to the Marmara Sea is still quoted to steeltraders at $18?19/t. Delivery of 5,000 t of steel from Olvia port to Egypt costs $28/t on average, as much as last week.
