Iron ore inches down, demand stable

Iron ore declined Tuesday as futures posted downward correction, while trading activity was relatively stable.On May 15, Australian iron ore fines 62% Fe decreased by $0.8/t to $67.2/t CFR over a day after its quotes in Septembercontracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange lost $0.4/t. However, given the gradual climb during the previousthree working days, the raw material price has been still fluctuating in the narrow range, with no significant changesin demand registered during the day. Trading volumes at ports, as previously, were exceeding those in the seabornematerial market, insiders say.
