Jordie and I met during his first year of medical school when he was assigned to my office for "Introduction to Clinical Medicine." He was well mannered, deferential, and sweet like summer corn. He was also completely medically ignorant, but that was to be expected.Two and a half years later, Jordie is preparing to graduate. He is applying to training programs in internal medicine, and it strikes me that he may well become a magnificent physician. He is curious, he is fascinated by patho-physiology, he loves his work, and he is eager to make patients better.
