Prescribing statins to patients who have suffered a heart attack or stroke with statins can reduce their risk of suffering another by 25%, according to new research. A study of heart patients by researchers at the Intermountain Heart Institute in Utah found that those who were prescribed statins had a reduced chance of suffering another heart attack or stroke or of dying early.
