'I have developed good working relationships with my patients' -a day in the life of a renal pharmacist

I work as the renal pharmacist at Hull University Teaching Hospitals. I also manage a clinic with consultant oversight for patients diagnosed with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) - an inherited condition that causes small fluid-filled sacs to develop in the kidneys. The aim of the clinic is to ensure safe and effective use and monitoring of tolvaptan (JINARC?), a selective vasopressin 2-receptor antagonist, approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence to slow down the growth of cysts in the kidney and preserve renal function for longer. This pharmacist-led clinic has been running for about 18 months.
