Study and implementation of a variable parameter modeling for die casting mold generation

摘要

Aiming at the problems in the process of the modeling of die casting mold, such as the discretization of design parameters, the complexity of detail modification, and the variation of design information because of the difference of description and organization method, a variable parameter modeling idea is proposed. Firstly, the feature analysis and abstraction of each module are carried out to obtain semantic units that are easy to be described by computer language. Secondly, the modeling principle, parameter representation, and implementation algorithm of some units are described in detail. Lastly, each unit is subdivided into multiple semantic units according to the design priority, and the pouring semantic model library is constructed. Combined with extend parametric design techniques, secondary development technology, and VC++ language, the complete expression of gate, sprue, and the whole overflow system is realized on UG platform. The operating results of the system in the cooperative enterprise show that the method has good accuracy, high efficiency, and wide adaptability in the design of many complex die castings and can effectively shorten the development cycle.
