FERC Issues Final EIS for Annova LNG Brownsville Project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on 19th local time issued a final environmental impactstatement (final FIS) for the Annova LNG Brownsville. The final EIS reached the same conclusion as the draft EISreleased last December, saying: “Impacts on surrounding areas could be avoided and minimized by taking necessarymeasures.” FERC expressed once again its positive view for approval of the project.Public comments invitation for the final EIS has been open over the course of one month after the initial deadlineas the invitation was temporarily stopped due to the government shutdown. As a result, the final EIS was issued as initiallyplanned.
