Iraq to go it alone on two major oil, gas fields

Dubai-Iraq will push ahead with the development of two major oil and gas fields, Nassiriya and Mansuriya, without the help of international oil companies, the oil ministry said late Monday. Oil minister Jabbar al-Luaibi said in a statement he has instructed state-owned oil companies to put together an urgent plan for the development of the Mansuriya oil field "after the delay and failure of foreign companies."
