Lme proposes responsible sourcing principles for listings

The London Metal Exchange has launched a consultation with market partici- pants on its plan to apply responsible sourc- ing principles on all metal brands trading on the exchange, the exchange said Tuesday. Market feedback will be accepted until June 30, it said. The LME is proposing all its listed brands to undertake Red Flag Assessment of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development by the end of 2020. In 2010, the OECD put together a recommendation for supply chain management of metal from conflict-affected areas to help companies respect human rights and avoid contributing to conflict through metal trade.
