h-Efficiency: measuring input–output performance of research funds

Recently, Lozano proposed 'impact perdollar', a new criterion for measuringinput-output performance of researchfunds along with the h-index. Since itsintroduction by Hirsch in 2005, the hindex has proved to be a simple and useful indicator that has been applied injournals, by research groups, institutions, countries, as well as patentees.Many theoretical approaches have also been studied. Here we have developed an indicator called h-efficiency (hE)for measuring input-output performanceof research funds.
